Week one was pretty glorious. There has been some action in the facebook group, and it has been amazing to watch love in action all over the place. I gave away a pile of paintings on my wonderstrumpet page:
I watched one lovely follower give her painting to another in a beautiful act of kindness. Seriously. This whole thing has made me ridiculously happy.
“Silent guardian of the heart.”
The Marutas are storm gods, wild and fierce. The word ‘marut’ has been translated in many ways, including “shining ones,” “flashing ones,” gold, wind, air, and breath as applied to the five winds in the body (including Prana from week 1). Marut acknowledges that the breath is wild, magical, and untamed.
Build upon your breath practice – sit and breathe, notice your breath, and, as you breathe, welcome your wildness. Welcome your primal self. Feel the love in that wildness, that connection to nature, feel it every time the wind blows, when the sun shines on your skin, when the rain or snow falls. Feel the electricity of that love like a lightning strike.
Imagine that first-love feeling of weightlessness, that warm, full-body tingle, that tangle of hope and home and wonder. Let that feeling come over you and fill you to the point of overflowing. Wrap that love around yourself. Wrap it around your loved ones. Wrap it around your home, your town, your country, the world. Fiercely guard it with all that you are.
Ways to work with the prompt:
- Journal about what it means to love fiercely and to be a guardian of the heart.
- Meditate with your Wild Child and journal about your experiences.
- Explore the concepts of nature, storms, ferocity, lightning, and wind.
- Use any of these quotes:
- “Nothing is more beautiful than the love that has weathered the storms of life.” – Jerome K. Jerome
- “I am the storm.”
- Be a silent (fierce) guardian of the heart.
- “Love is a war of lightning.” – Pablo Neruda
- Just. Keep. Breathing. <3
There will be another free video next week. Come on over to the Facebook group to share work or cheerlead, or to discuss what it means to be a guardian in this lake of fire. Patreon supporters: Your time lapse of this week’s painting is up! <3
Until next week!
